About Me

Hey everyone and welcome to my blog!
I'm guessing you clicked on this link to… yanno… learn more about me! And that you will. Let's start off with the simple things. I am a Business Marketing student at the University of Portland. I was thinking about going into biology, but after taking science-based classes and thinking about what I could do with a biology degree, not much came to mind. I actualized my thoughts and realized I wouldn't be eternally happy going into science, even though I love the human body, its mechanisms, and its functions. Nonetheless, I am still very interested in the human body and its composition and physiology. More specifically, nutrition and exercise that can help our bodies be the best they can be. I believe that food and exercise is the best form of medicine and the best healers out there. Feed yourself right and maintain activity and you are bound to have a healthy mindset and life.
Shortly after realizing I am not particularly interested in science, I thought about how interested I am in connecting with people, helping others, and blogging, centering around the topic of food and exercise. My instagram (@eatburnbalance) is what got me started on that. My instagram began as somewhat of a "joke". But then I found myself loving to post and tell all about my meals, recipes, exercises, etc. even if people weren't reading them, because it gave me the feeling of accountability and accomplishment. Then my follower count started to bump up. I have connected (and continue to connect) with people across my state, across the country, and across the globe. The relationships I have established through my instagram are unbelievably strong and supportive. I am so glad I decided to start my instagram and can't wait to see where it takes me.
During my first semester of college, I was a recruited rower, even though I never rowed before. That was quite a crazy semester. You can read more about how I got recruited here. There you will also find how I started my journey, where it took me in the first year, and where I was before college.
Now, I am 19 years old and living in Portland, Oregon. I think it was the best decision for me to quit rowing (due to the fact that I didn't love it and didn't want to devote so much time to it and miss out on other opportunities) but still remain at the University of Portland. The semesters since rowing have been the best months of my life, as I have overcome past orthorexic thoughts and obsessive exercise and food habits. I can't wait to continue my education here.
I hope to help inspire people that are starting their wellness journeys, are in a rut, learning how to remain healthy in college, or people that just like food! Enjoy my blog :)
